Things to note

- A 3-day trip to Labengki and Sombori Islands will give you a taste of the highlights, while a 5-day trip allows for a more in-depth exploration and relaxation

- Best Time to Visit: The dry season, February to May, and September to October, is generally the best time to visit. Expect rain and rougher seas during the other months. However, it's important to remember that weather patterns can be unpredictable, and even during the dry season, you might experience some rain.

However, Labengki and sombori island can be visited year-round.

- Unfortunately, there are no regular public boats that go directly to Labengki Island from Kendari. it needs to charter a boat for the islands hopping trip, most boats depart in the morning, usually between 8 AM and 10 AM. This allows you to arrive on Labengki with plenty of time to explore during the day. It's also generally when the sea is calmer, making for a more comfortable journey

WAKATOBI ISLANDS

Wakatobi,

- Pick-up from the harbor in Wanci ( public boat from Kendari or Bau-bau), check-in accommodation.

- Take a boat from Kaledupa to Hoga Island. The trip is short, usually around 30 minutes, Snorkeling/Diving: Hoga is renowned for its excellent snorkeling and diving. Spend the day exploring the vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life

Day 3

- Visit the Bajo Village in Sampela:Sampela village in Kaledupa island is home to a traditional Bajo community, also known as "sea gypsies."

Day 4

- Morning: Take a public ferry or speedboat back to Wanci (approximately 1 hour)

- Arrive in Wanci, catch a ferry or speedboat to Kendari or Bau-bau

- Scheduled commercial flights to Wakatobi's Matahora Airport (WNI) on Wangi-Wangi Island are currently unavailable

2.Kendari to Wanci (Wangi-Wangi Island) by public boat (approximately 8 hours)

Airlines and Routes:

Wings Air: This is the primary airline that currently operates flights to and from Bau-Bau. They mainly fly to Makassar (UPG) from Bau-Bau.
Connecting Flights: Since Bau-Bau is a smaller airport, you'll likely need to take a connecting flight from major cities in Indonesia, such as Jakarta, Surabaya, or Denpasar. These connecting flights often involve a layover in Makassar

2. By boat

Fly to Kendari (KDI): the capital city of Southeast Sulawesi. Many domestic airlines offer flights to Kendari from major cities in Indonesia, such as Jakarta, Makassar, and Surabaya. .From Kendari you can catch a ferry to Bau-Bau. The ferry journey takes approximately 5 hours
PELNI Ships: Indonesia's national shipping company, PELNI, operates ships that connect various ports across the archipelago. Some PELNI ships make stops in Bau-Bau. This option is generally cheaper but can take longer. Check the PELNI website for schedules and routes
