Hi, I’m Mario, a professional guide since 2017 and the heart behind Sulawesi Eco Adventure. I’ve always loved exploring the landscapes, islands, and cultures around my home in Southeast Sulawesi. But more than that,
I love meeting new people, sharing experiences, and learning from travelers who come from all over Indonesia and the world. That passion led me to create Sulawesi Eco Adventure, a tour operator where I can combine my love for nature, guiding, and meaningful cultural exchange.

We specialize in organizing eco friendly tours throughout Southeast Sulawesi, a region that remains largely untouristed but is filled with hidden gems. From the stunning islands of Labengki and Sombori, to the cultural richness of Buton and Muna, and the marine wonders of the Wakatobi Islands.

My Story
From Local Explorer to Eco Adventure Guide
Hi, I’m Mario, founder of Sulawesi Eco Adventure, and this is my story.
I was born and raised in Southeast Sulawesi, a region full of natural beauty but still unknown to many travelers. Since I was young, I’ve loved exploring the forests, coasts, and islands around my home. Every journey made me more curious, and more proud, of the incredible places hidden right here in my own backyard.
In 2017, I became a professional guide, not just to earn a living, but because I wanted to share these places with the world. I found true joy in meeting new people, learning from their stories, and showing them the magic of Southeast Sulawesi, from the turquoise waters of Labengki and Sombori, to the cultural richness of Buton and Muna, and the underwater paradise of Wakatobi.
But guiding wasn’t enough. I wanted to offer more: better experiences, deeper connections, and a more personal approach to travel. That’s when I started Sulawesi Eco Adventure, a small, locally owned tour operator with a big heart.
Most of the trips are still led and managed by me. I take care of everything myself, planning, guiding, and making sure every guest feels welcome and safe. It’s not always easy, but it’s what I love. Every smile from a happy traveler, every “wow” when they see a hidden beach or a coral reef, it reminds me why I do this.
This is more than just travel. This is connection, exploration, and respect, for nature, culture, and people.
